Mission, Vision, & Values
Mission
Our Village will provide our families a hand up, not a hand out by providing comprehensive spiritual, cultural, social, health and educational experiences for our community.
Vision
Our Village will be the landmark organization for Okeechobee County encompassing cultural experiences such as all performing arts, museums, historical sites; educational opportunities such as mentoring, tutoring, educational experiences, craftsmanship, artisanship, labs; health and science experiences such as a living, walkable community, a community garden, science and agriculture brought to life for our children to learn the newest technology available to sustain our agricultural heritage, physical activities where our community sees renewed health and well-being, all by calling together faith based, government, education, private business, nonprofits and community members in a call to action of service above self. Our Village will be a place where families reconnect with one another, reengage by participating in activities as families and families will be provided opportunities to enhance their lives. Our Village will work to find ways to maintain earned income streams and not be so heavily reliant on grant funding as part of its long term sustainability plan
Values
Our Village is first and foremost based on faith, but also respects the rights of others to believe differently. Our Village will be guided by the Christian values upon which our community was founded and we still uphold today. We will respect and serve all families, employ staff and engage volunteers dedicated to the mission, while protecting them from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, reprisal, political beliefs, marital status, familial or parental status, sexual orientation, or economic status.
