Our Village Okeechobee is a collective impact, forward thinking organization, which means we identify gaps in our social safety net and implement programs which are within our capacity. Further, we utilize the vast resources from our collective impact partners to leverage services and/or funding to assist community members in need.

Providing Okeechobee residents affected by Hurricane Milton with connection to resources and repair/rebuild funding. Must be an Okeechobee resident, applications are open on our website. OLTRG.org

The prevention coalition educates, assess and informs Okeechobee county on current substance trends as well as engage the community. We help them with the importance of youth misusing substances. We allow the youth to participate in outreach and help inform them about long- and short-term effect of substance use.  We offer lock your meds, parents who host lose the most, Natural High, Hidden in Plain Sight and Friday Night Done Right.

Provides second-hand clothing items at a low cost, and also provides free clothes for people who are in need of them. We also have a One for One program where mothers can exchange one item of baby clothing that may not fit their child anymore and exchange it for a bigger outfit. *Up to one years old*

Provides food at a low cost for people with low or no income twice a month and also offers thrift items for sale, mainly home appliances.

Raises awareness about drugs and drug abuse for youth ages 12-20. Teaches parents how to look for drugs hidden in plain sight, and how to properly store and dispose of medication.

The Arts and Education Center @ Our Village offers multiple programs including,

 

Uniquely You-Uniquely You is an indoor sensory play group for children, parents, home visitors, RBT's and professionals. This space offers a safe, friendly and educational environment. Designed with children with unique abilities (ex. autism, 504 plans, IEP's, diagnosed or suspected).

Guiding Light Grief Support Groups- A Peer-Led Grief Support Group that provides hope, healing and connecting with others while walking through grief together. This group is unique, bereaved adults meet with a Peer- Host, while children affected by the loss work with a Peer Support Specialist through various crafts & activities that promote healing. 

​

Music and Movement- More than just play, Music & Movement is important in your child’s development. In each session you and your child will target an area in their development to work on. Cognitive development, social skills, fine and gross motor skills are all areas that are promoted and enhanced. 

​
